This ONE shift in prayer changes everything!

I don’t know about you, but sometimes I catch myself praying from the wrong perspective. I forget where God has positioned me. Instead of praying from a place of faith, I find myself praying from the ground up, seeing things through an earthly lens where I feel small and my problems seem so big and sometimes overwhelming.
But what if we prayed from where we are truly seated?
Ephesians 2:4-7 reminds us that God has raised us up and seated us with Christ in heavenly places. That means we don’t pray for victory but we pray from victory! We pray from a position of authority in Him, knowing that nothing and no one is greater than Jesus.
From this vantage point, it easily puts everything in an accurate, truthful perspective because every problem pales in comparison to His great power.
Nothing is too difficult for our God! It also reminds us where He has established us. He raised us up and seated us with Christ, in heavenly places. This wasn’t our idea. This is what God has done and where we sit through our faith in Christ Jesus. This is the authority He has given us. To pray from this position in Him.
If that wasn’t enough, let’s go back to God’s Word to help us understand more about this position. Ephesians 1: 19-22 tells us that there is an exceeding greatness of Christ’s power towards us who believe. Notice it says, to us who believe. Not just anyone but to us who believe. Now, I want you to skip down to verse 21 and see exactly where God the Father established Jesus His Son.
I want you to take in the details here because He is making it clear not only where Christ Jesus is seated but the authority that has been established, in Him. First, He is at the right which is a position of honor, power and authority on equal ground with God the Father. It’s also important to note that Jesus is sitting down. There is a finished work that He is now resting from.
It goes on further to state this heavenly place is far above, not just slightly above but the gapping difference is so great that it doesn’t compare. Now let’s listen carefully to what He is FAR ABOVE. He is” 21 far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”
I think we can call it a wrap right there! LOL. Whatever you can think of, whatever you can imagine as any possible frighteningly powerful evil force, Christ is FAR ABOVE ALL. There is nothing or no one that can ever compare to Christ’s power or authority. Not anything now, nor anything which is to come! It is done! It is finished there is no one or nothing greater than Jesus, Who is now sitting down!
But wait, this place of victory, this position of ALL authority and power and might is where we, the body of Christ, have been strategically placed in Christ Jesus. This is the confident position we can pray from. Our confidence isn’t in our abilities but in the finished work of the cross and where Christ is now seated!
So, it is my hope that the next time we go to pray that we take time to remember our true vantage point, that we are seated together in heavenly places in Christ Jesus. That we pray from this position of authority in Jesus. We can pray with a confident hope and expectation in the finished work that He already accomplished. We pray knowing that everything has been handed over to Jesus and that there is no one greater, nor will there ever be!
I know that when we pray from this position our prayers will sound much different and the power released from aligning with His truth found in His Word will accomplish what He purposed. All to His praise and glory! Amen!

Ephesians 2:4-7
4 But God, who is rich in mercy, because of His great love with which He loved us, 5 even when we were dead in trespasses, made us alive together with Christ (by grace you have been saved), 6 and raised us up together, and made us sit together in the heavenly places in Christ Jesus, 7 that in the ages to come He might show the exceeding riches of His grace in His kindness toward us in Christ Jesus.
